Like a filling without the drilling

Have you noticed white spots on your teeth lately?  These little imperfections commonly appear as a result of overexposure to fluoride, trauma, poor oral hygiene, or bracket removal from braces.   In the past, treatment to lessen the discoloration was invasive and involved numbing shots, drilling, and sacrificing healthy tooth structure.  Because of advances in material science and restorative technique, we can now offer our patients  a minimally invasive and painless solution for these white spots: an ICON treatment.

How does ICON work?

White spots appear where teeth have been demineralized, which leaves porosities under the intact tooth structure. Porosity is the presence of pores or small holes in the tooth structure.  ICON infiltrate can penetrate them to restore enamel and return the color of the teeth to their natural state.  It is like getting a filling with the drilling!

Unlike the whitening products, ICON resin infiltration is considered a longer-term solution. Research shows the treatment can remain effective for more than two years. We offer our patients this option to help fade the appearance of their white spot lesions and restore their confidence in their pearly white smiles. While we cannot guarantee the spots will disappear completely, in most cases the procedure provides a significant cosmetic improvement for our patients in just one simple, painless visit.
